"At different stages of my artistic activity I use multiple sources. I am searching and experimenting. I am inspired by other, sometimes radically different motives and methods of their imaging. Baroque painting remains an inspiration to me only in the context of the theme of still life with its spectacular illusionism and symbolism. I am very passionate about how the mood is developed in the works of Caravaggio, but also how amazingly the light is reflected in the paintings of Joseph Wright. What is delightful is a special sense of colour and high-quality workshop of Gabriel Mets as well as virtuosity of Denis Peterson’s painting. At the core of my latest works, kept in the mainstream of organic abstraction are the studies of works of Clyfford Still and Paul Jenkins."
