Biography
Marcin Kędzierski, born in 1969 in Radom. Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw,
at the Faculty of Graphic Arts. He received his diploma in the Poster Studio in 1998.In 1997-1998 he was a guest artist at the Faculty of Painting, in the studio of Prof. Leon Tarasewicz.
He received an honorable mention for his painting entitled: Expectation-Red at the 36th National Painting Competition Bielska Jesień 2003.In 2008, he received an honorable mention for his painting Pod Blokiem in the Image of Public Space competition in Poznań. He is the winner of the National Painting Contest - Warsaw Landscape 2014 in the category Peculiarities of Warsaw for his painting Brzeska 12.
He is interested in the city and its inhabitants. Banal Warsaw scenes t.i.e. bus stop, street, subway, blocks of flats are transformed into a frame that gives an existential character to the simple characters in his paintings. He recorded his artistic debut at the turn of the century in 1998-2001. Nevertheless, he abandons the journalistic nature of his work, typical of his peers, and paints stop-frames of ordinary urban observations. In his painting he refers to the work of Andrzej Wróblewski, Jaroslaw Modzelewski, Edward Hopper, among others. In 2004, he founded the Urban Group, which deals with artistic commentary on city life. Since 2014, he has expanded the spectrum of interests and created an art group, Brotherhood of St. Francis, in which he seeks spiritual messages in his own experiences, observations of the world and nature. Together with invited artists, painters, people of the pen, she runs a kind of mystical reportage from the present day on the Brotherhood's blog, in which, following the medieval model, image and word intermingle in the majesty of God. In Him he seeks inspiration.
