Piotr Kachny
Born in 1978 in Kluczbork. He graduated from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (Faculty of Pedagogy and Art in Kalisz) with a degree in EASP (diploma in painting) and the Natonal College of Art and Design (Dublin). He is interested in the human figure. He uses images of people he often knows as a pretext to build a painting. The face itself can be an architectural building for him, for example. However, what matters most is what is very often invisible at first glance: emotions, feelings, state of mind, character....

Biography
Piotr Kachny was born in 1978 in Kluczbork ( Opole province).
He graduated from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (Pedagogical and Artistic Faculty in Kalisz) with a degree in EASP (diploma in painting) and Natonal College of Art and Design (Dublin).
He paints, does fine art photography and photomontage.
In both painting and photography he is interested in the human figure. He uses photographs with images of people he often knows and people from the world of film, music and entertainment. These characters are a kind of pretext for building an image. In his paintings the face itself can be something like an architectural building. Geometry= harmony. However, the most important thing is what is very often invisible at first glance: emotions, feelings, state of mind, character, sensuality, sexuality.... In addition, it shows what is sensual in man, and with which he has lost contact due to the influence of culture, the conventions associated with it, including education (upbringing). Hence the most common images used are those of women, usually young, beautiful and sensual. Sometimes the subject is male-female relations. But above all sensuality and sexuality, topics that are taboo for many religious, social, political or sociological systems and beliefs. The artist poses questions such as: does sexuality and sensuality exclude spirituality, or is it related to it ?
His paintings are also inspired by various attitudes or patterns of social behavior.
He cooperates with many galleries and auction houses in Poland and around the world. These include Gallery Store, Art. In House, Desa Unicum, Galeria Next, Galleri v58, Tapper Popermajer Gallery, Brick Lane Gallery, Art of Poland, Gemini Gallery, Galeria Oranż and many others.

In the fall of 2020, he established a music project called Omna Mah, which combines elements of Ethnic, Electronic, Dark Ambient, Cold Wave, Neo Classical music. Initially it was a one-person project, with time the following musicians joined: India Czajkowska (vocals, Synths) and Rafal Wawrzyniak (guitar, additional sounds)
And guests: Agnieszka Marciniak (voice, recitation), Wojciech Krzemienowski (bass guitar). Joanna Gawronska Cieliszak (vocals), Magdalena Pawlica (vocals).

Winner of the Erich Lütkenhaus Prize in the Ars Universitatis competition for his work "The pregnancy", Kalisz 22.02.2008
