"What you are really like no one knows, because even you yourself don't know..." is the beginning of Boguslaw Mec's song "Portrait of her", well describing the diversity and multidimensionality of female nature, which is reflected in their paintings by artists cooperating with STALOWA Gallery.
At the exhibition we can see dozens of works depicting women by artists such as Agnieszka Beer, Jerzy Cichecki, Paweł Cielątkowski, Piotr Cielątkowski, Marek Działek, Ilona Foryś, Marzena Hettich-Uryszek, Piotr Kachny, Dominika Kędzierska, Marcin Kędzierski, Włodzimierz Krężlewicz, Martyna Kublin, Jolanta Mikuła, Daria Ostrowska, Olha Tokar, Viola Tycz, Marcin Ziółkowski and Agnieszka Żak-Biełowa.
The artists portray a woman not only taking into account her physicality, showing her beauty and grace, but also try to reflect her complex character. The exhibition also features works depicting female icons of contemporary pop culture, feminizing depictions, symbolic and emotional portraits, but also poetic and inspired images, illustrating the depth and sensitivity of the psyche.
Let the metaphor accompanying the exhibition "Her Portrait" be a fragment of the refrain of the aforementioned song by Boguslaw Mec: "I will lift your scent of sleep, the drawing of your lips, the color of your words, your unfinished, bright portrait."
