The opening of the Abstractions painting exhibition will take place on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, from 19:00-21:00.
"It's a peculiar paradox - abstract art has been present in the art world for more than a century, and there are still times when it is troubled by the wider public. How many times have I heard: I don't understand, I don't know what the painting is about, what the painting is about....
Of course, it is easy to understand a certain uneasiness among viewers who do not see specific objects or landscapes and have a sense of confusion and ask what it is they are dealing with right now? Encounters of colors, clashes of geometric forms, storms of color spots, vibrations of lines, fields of smoothly laid or, on the contrary, relief paints - for artists become completely sufficient subjects for complete painting and compositional encounters. This is completely sufficient for artists and, what's more, it is completely satisfying for them, the formal side of painting can turn into the whole content and the whole message for viewers.
Abstractions can be endless. We have already learned quite a lot, but there is still much to come, artists are still come up with new ideas. Art does not stand still and is still trying to find other ways, to take further formal solutions, new ways to solve the riddle of the image, and there are as many ideas as many artists."
