Born in 1967 in Jasło, he graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń in 1966 under supervision of Professor Lech Wolski. In 1997, Ireneusz started to work as the researcher and teacher in the Department of Painting of the Artistic Institute of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. In 2012, he completed his postdoctoral studies in visual arts and has been appointed the professor in the aforesaid Institute.
