Biography

He studied art at the Higher School of Pedagogy in Częstochowa, but claims that the studies gave him only theoretical preparation and is a self-taught painter. In 1991 he became a member of ZPAP. After his individual debut in Poland (exhibition at BWA, Czestochowa 1994), his works were included in a travelling exhibition Polish Surrealists presented in Poland in 1995-1997. In 1998, his work was taken up by New York's Stricoff Fine Art Gallery Ltd. The artist represents the current of the so-called magic realism popular with the public. He builds his compositions usually in zones, placing characters in fantastic, colourful costumes.
He cooperates with galleries in Poland and abroad, taking part in numerous exhibitions. He creates in oil and acrylic technique and makes graphics using etching and soft vernix technique. The artist has also developed his own gouache technique. He is also the author of many sculptures. His works reflect an extremely rich imagination, creating a world of opposing emotions and associations.
