Katarzyna Makieła-Organisty was born in 1984 in Hrubieszów. She graduated from the Bernard Morand State High School of Fine Arts in Zamość. In the years 2004-2009 she studied in the studio of Prof. Stanisław Rodziński at the Faculty of Painting of the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. In 2012 she received a doctorate in fine arts in the field of fine arts. Since 2009 she has been working at her alma mater, currently as an assistant professor in the painting studio of Janusz Matuszewski, PhD,. Her works are regularly presented at individual and group exhibitions in Poland and abroad. She uses classical painting techniques - she practices oil painting, uses yolk tempera, is also interested in book illustration and collage. She systematically runs sketchbooks. The subject matter of her paintings is mainly still life, but also landscapes, portraits. The closest to her is her realism, often contrasted with flat, synthetic geometric forms.
