ABOUT EXHIBITION
Kamil Stanczak's paintings are a phenomenal impulse for a trip into the cosmos of subconsciousness. Inspired by the beauty of nature on one hand encourages to build relations with the surrounding world, but also to get to know oneself better. Our way of looking at reality and our observation of it de facto create the energy of the environment. It is worth making quantum leaps and make your life extraordinary. Kamil Stańczak's paintings are accompanied by a group of sculptures by Ignacy Nowodworski. PACK makes a huge impression. These are a dozen or so supernaturally sized sculptures of wolves, painted black, emerging as though from a dream. The wolf's independence, strength and perseverance are admired, giving one courage to be free. The idea of combining the two exhibitions came from Joanna Kulis, the curator, who has been collaborating with Kamil Stanczak as a dealer for several years. The proposed joint arrangement of paintings and sculptures aims to show the interaction and mutual influence of these extraordinary works. Kamil Stanczak (born 1980 Puławy) is a Polish visual artist. Graduated from the Artistic Faculty of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, Ph.D., lectures at his alma mater. He deals with painting, which is the core of his work, and installation. He creates characteristic objects and architectural models and constructs mobile devices. He selects very specific elements from the world of wild nature, post-industrial architecture, degraded by civilization. He creates strange and puzzling visual landscapes, suspended between reality and fiction, simultaneously natural and artificial. He has had 21 solo exhibitions in Lublin, Puławy, Cracow, Galeria Sztuki Współczesnej in Przemyśl and Galeria BWA in Sanok. He took part in several dozens of group exhibitions, including the VI National Exhibition of Young Painting at the Awangarda Gallery in Wroclaw, Konst Massan in Stockholm, the exhibition Polish Painting of the 21st Century at the Zachęta Gallery in Warsaw, Machines Desiring at the Art Factory in Łódź. Ignacy Nowodworski (born 1980 Gdansk) graduated from the Art Institute of the UO in Opole, received his diploma with honors in 2005, received his doctoral degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw in 2018. In his sculptural works he uses a variety of materials such as marble, granite, hardwoods, metal and found objects. Mutual contrasts of materials and structures are characteristic of his multimaterial sculptures. The artist has an interest in man and animal and the interspecies relationship between them. Currently, he is fascinated with individual cast iron "lost foam" castings and welded openwork structures. Works in the collection of "Zachęta" in Opole and in private collections in Poland, Germany, the Netherlands and the USA. Author of the MECENAS statuette at the Contemporary Art Gallery, Opole Lamas statuette at the National Independent Film Festival and DIALOGUE MOSTS. Assistant professor at the sculpture studio of the UO Art Department. Joanna Kulis is the curator of exhibitions.
