Graduate of the Faculty of Sculpture, I studied in the studio of Prof. J. Nowakowski at the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow.

Biography

Graduate of the Faculty of Sculpture, I studied in the studio of Prof. J. Nowakowski at the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow.

'I have been passionate about sculpture for over 15 years - while sculpting I maintain family traditions. My first orders were carried out under the supervision of my parents, Ewa and Marek Blajerski. It was them who rooted in me the passion for working in various materials. In their art studio in the Podkarpacie region of Poland, in Jarosław, I got to know many possibilities of expressing my artistic ambitions and visions. Later, while studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, I took my first independent steps looking for appropriate and more and more innovative means of expression. I create in ceramics, wood, stone, metal, plaster and resins. I often come back to my parents to get advice about our profession.

Currently I work in Krakow, where I rent a studio. It is mainly there that I realize orders on my own, but first of all my own ideas and projects. My work gives me a lot of pleasure and satisfaction, although it often requires great physical and mental effort and commitment. The process of creation fully absorbs the design skills and efficiency in organizing the workshop needed to make a sculpture in a given material. It also requires patience and the will to improve oneself.

My ideas are usually realized in ceramics, this material allows me to think freely and in an abstract way. My favourite materials also include linden wood, oak, walnut and black oak. I have a great pleasure working in stone. I carved carrara, rosso portugalo, travertine, limestone, sandstone and granite in marble. Again, I am closely bound to the work in stone by the memories of my parents' studio.

Apart from sculpture, I am also passionate about drawing. Since the second year of my studies, I have also been a bassist of a music band called "Na spokojnie", which consists of five sculptors.'
