He defended his diploma in Prof. Leon Tarasewicz's studio in 1999 with a very good result with distinction, the annex to the diploma he defended in the Studio of Technology and Wall Painting Techniques
under Prof. Edward Tarkowski. Earlier in his studies he worked, among others, under the direction of Prof. Jan Tarasin. An important artist and educator for him was also Jerzy Mierzwiak from the Warsaw High School of Fine Arts, which Bartek graduated in 1994. 1988/89 he studied at the School of Fine Arts
in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia).
He has exhibited individually in Warsaw, Lublin, Zakopane, Bavaria, Austria (Innsbruck) and Cracow, and has taken part in many group exhibitions.
in Poland and Ireland. In 2014 he won first place and main prize
in the National Painting Competition Warsaw Landscape, organized by the Polish Art Gersonica Foundation as part of the "Warsaw. City of Art. City of artists". In this competition he also received the Special Award of the Founders of the Polish Art Foundation Art Gersonica and the Special Award of the Chapter. In 2000 he won the first place and the main prize in the field of painting at the 1st International Festival of Theatre and Artistic Activities "Events" in Tczew. His works are in many private collections in Poland and abroad.

'Traditional, figurative painting I deal with is inspired by my closest environment, in which I live and with which I have a natural emotional bond. I do not try to create in isolation from nature, which, even for abstraction, always seems to be a starting point, although often unconscious. Realism - although I like to reduce, process and organize it in my own way - is essentially the closest formula of expression to me. From what surrounds me, I prefer to choose the most typical, familiar, repetitive motifs. As a rule, I avoid exceptional or unusual things and phenomena, I am rather interested in filtering this inconspicuous, everyday reality in such a way that only what is important for expressing harmony remains. I look for both tensions and coherence in it.
Everything I paint is a synthesis of my natural surroundings. I ask myself different questions every day and the paintings are some kind of a resultant of all these thoughts, experiences and impressions, also purely visual. One should not try to interpret them literally, because what is unnamed is the driving force behind my work.
The biggest challenge for me in painting are formal decisions, because they ultimately decide about the final impact of a painting. The theme itself is basically just a pretext for playing with the form, but the initial motif must always make a strong aesthetic impression on me'. Bartek Leszczyna
