Description
The Sweetest Festival in the World
The second edition of the Biscuiter Festival is now behind us.
The event, taking place in Gdynia's Orłowo district, once
again attracted crowds of participants. And there was a lot
to see! The day started with a show of the most fragile Polish
meringues.
Emotions heated up in the cake-toss competition. However,
the most attention was drawn by the competition for timed
cake eating. The winner was Mr. Rafał from Pszczółki, who
devoured 103 pieces of baked goods in 5 minutes.
The main prize (a Euro-pallet of cakes) was taken care of by
the event's general sponsor, Insulinex Polska Sp. z o.o.
The company, which has been dubbed the new Polish 'Chebel',
ensured that the pallet would be ready for collection as soon
as the winner regained consciousness.
The Guinness World Record for preparing the world's longest
wafer was also broken. The 12-metre-long dessert allowed
the team to dethrone the Dutch from Ermelo, who prepared
a 6-metre-long Stroopwafel in 2010.
The dessert was presented by the band Sweet Challah.
Encouraged by the success, the organisers are already an-
nouncing the winter edition.
