Description
Adonis charms under the MDM
An unusual discovery has been made by researchers from the
University of Warsaw.
Last week, and quite unexpectedly, they discovered traces of
greenery on Constitution Square in Warsaw.
'It's an amazing story because we didn't even do any research
on it,' says Prof. Mariusz Cyps, dean of the Faculty of Biology.
At Constitution Square, we were conducting an empirical
analysis of the volatilisation of the aroma of rain on concrete.
And suddenly such a rarity appeared!'
A single flower of the Summer adonis (Adonis aestivalis L.)
was found at the junction of Koszykowa and Marszałkowska,
in the shadow of the MDM buildings. For now, it is not
known how the greenery developed at this location.
The specimen was immediately protected with a perforated
protective enclosure made of polycarbonate.
'The Adonis will be protected better than Banksy's murals!'
- concluded the proud UW professor.
