Biography
She studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan. In 2009, she was awarded a Master of Arts degree with the Rector's Distinction and the Prof. Józef Szajna Award.
In 2010, she attended an Art and Design course at Central Saint Martins College in London. However, thanks to a scholarship from The National Academy School in New York, she moved to the USA, where she completed the Studio Art Intensive Programme. Her graduation exhibition, recognised as the best of 2016, earned her a residency at the La Napoule Art Foundation in France.
She has held numerous solo and group exhibitions, and her paintings are held in private collections in New York, São Paulo, Canberra, London, Brussels and many other locations. She currently lives and works in the countryside near Warsaw.
Miriam describes herself as a painter with an old soul. She is a firm believer in the traditional technique
of oil painting, considering it the only medium capable of achieving a certain aesthetic weight. The main theme of her work is time. In an attempt to capture that which will ultimately pass, she paints portraits with an intense psychological presence.
"My paintings are the measure of my life. They take precedence. I call my style Personal Realism. I sometimes doubt myself, but never my own art. My paintings are the best version of me, and I spend most of my days at the easel. With art, life is never boring!"
