Iwona Cur
Iwona Cur

Was born in Końskowola near Puławy in 1978. She graduated with honors from the Faculty of Graphic Arts and Printmaking of the European Academy of Arts in Warsaw. She received her Master of Arts Degree for her diploma projects in printmaking, completed in the studio of Prof. Waldemar Szysz, and in painting completed under the supervision of Prof. Andrzej Sadowski. She worked as an assistant at the Department of Printmaking. She lives and works in Warsaw.

Biography

Iwona Cur is a graphic artist. Inspired by the natural world, she creates big-size black and white linocuts. Linocut is a graphic technique that requires a great deal of precision and patience, but also allows the artist to create very expressive spaces by using different textures.

2005 - Grand Prix at the Third Biennial of All Arts, Climates of Tarnów (Klimaty Tarnowa)
2003 - Award of the President of the Republic of Poland in the competition for the best diploma project in visual arts (fine arts and design)
2003 - PRESTIGE Artistic Scholarship of the Millennium Bank
