Form inspired by wooden cabinets for Torah scrolls. Text in the upper arch: "Be strong as a leopard, light as an eagle, swift as a deer, and mighty as a lion to do the will of your God in heaven." (Pirke Avot 5:23; a theme prevalent in the art of Polish Jews, including in the decoration of synagogues and in cut-outs). In the lower arch: "This gate of the Lord, into which the righteous shall enter." (Psalm 118:20). On the veil, a verse from a parochet in the collection of the Jewish Historical Institute: " for the covering of the beautiful chest of the ark and the Torah, the jewels of the holy Sabbath" (Hebrew) and from the drama "The Dybbuk": "There is neither such velvet nor such gold today" (Yiddish).
